What is ISO 20000?

This globally-recognised IT services management standard derives from the model of the British Standard BS15000 and is combined with the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) of the Office of Government Commerce (OGC). ISO 20000 has been developed to provide IT services management and infrastructure — both internal and outsourced — with consistency, which would be beneficial to both employees and customers. The ultimate goal is effective overall IT service management. The standard is based on key processes ranging from service personnel’s reporting to the management, IT service budgeting and accounting to information security, management of suppliers, incidents, changes and information disclosure.
