Tour de sens travel concept

As a sighted travel guest …
you will assist a blind person during the daily program, enabling her/him to travel and in return take part in an exclusive, very multifaceted and fully organized travel program.
You describe interesting visual things along the way and thereby perceive your surroundings in a very intense and detailed way
You will experience not only the usual sights, but get to know the holiday destination with all your senses: tastings and degustations, guided aroma tours, concerts, nature experiences etc. In this way you will learn to make greater use of your non-visual senses. As a compensation for your commitment and help
you will participate in a fully organized and guided trip for a strongly discounted price and so pay up to 50% less than for comparable offerings. This applies also for sighted relatives or acquaintances of blind and partially sighted guests.
Blind and partially sighted people manage their daily lives completely independently but do need some support concerning orientation within unknown surroundings. On our trips sighted travelers are therefore expressly guests and not supervisors. In case you previously did not have any practice accompanying blind or visually impaired people, you will receive written instructions and take part in an introduction right at the beginning of the journey.

Dragnifier

Dragnifier

Dragnifier is a free screen magnifier. It works as a magnifying glass and it can increase the size of any selected area on the screen. You can click its icon on taskbar and drag it to any area you want to zoom in. It requires no installation and comes as a single executable. You can also set a hotkey to activate it.

You don’t need to be visually impaired to require larger fonts on the computer screen; sometimes short-sighted users like me would also like to have larger views of a given element on the Windows desktop.

Luckily you can now use Dragnifier to get up-close and personal with Windows. This easy-to-use magnifying glass lets you increase the size of any selected area on the screen, just by clicking on the program’s icon in the taskbar and dragging it over the area you want to zoom in.

Dragnifier doesn’t require installation and is really simple to use. It offers support for customizable keyboard shortcuts (no support for mouse combinations though), includes an optional grid for on-screen pixel measurement and features several zoom power levels. You can also choose among different lens designs.

The weird thing about Dragnifier is that, though it lets you change the zoom value while the magnifying glass is active, the only way to do it is by using the + and – keys on the numeric pad – certainly not a very comfortable key combination.

With Dragnifier you can easily zoom into any area on the computer screen.

CCTV and magnificatiions scanning systems

cctv

A closed-circuit television (CCTV) system uses a stand-mounted or hand-held video camera to project a magnified image onto a video monitor or a television (TV) screen” (from AFB information sheet). A CCTV includes the following basic features: video camera with zoom lens (hand-held or stand); monitor or television (attached camera or external); provide enlarged image of material under camera; magnification range of 2X to 60X+; switchable polarity (black text/white background or white text/black background); controls for focus, magnification, brightness, contrast; X-Y viewing table for easy material movement; variety of monitor sizes (5 inches to 20+ inches); black and white camera with color monitor (allows user selectable foreground and background colors); color camera with color monitor (view full color enlarged images); controls for foreground and background color, split image, color or b/w presentation; line markers or windowing (horizontal and/or vertical screen masking that provides a user selectable viewing window for reading); motorized viewing table

One Loupe

OneLoupe

One Loupe is a very small program and has a magnifying window. You can resize its window with keyboard arrow keys. You can also press F11 key to toggle between full screen views. It shows you the detailed zoomed view of the selected area. It places its icon in system tray or you can make it active using hotkey.

OneLoupe is required to view everything on the screen enlarged. The small Magnifier is always ready when you need it to view all fine details, even the small print in the I-Net to decipher. OneLoupe is very practical and user-friendly. And it is virtually no burden on the system, an installation is not required. Once placed on the desktop, it is always ready for use. It is also suitable for people with visual impairments.

Free screen magnifiers

FreeScreenMag

The screen magnifiers let you magnify any area of your screen easily. All these screen magnifiers are completely free and can be downloaded to Windows PC.

These screenmagnifier software offer various features, like: zooming in or out, activate by any hot key, capture screenshot, full screen magnification, zoom up to 1x to 20x.

Some don’t require installation and can be run from USB drive, comes as single executable, adjust height and width of the lens and more.
