Spoken-Web is a Web portal, managing a wide range of online data-intensive content like news updates, weather, travel and business articles for computer users who are blind or visually impaired. The site provides a simple, easy-to-use interface for navigating between the different sections and articles. Using the keyboard to navigate, a person who is blind or who has a visual impairment can hear the full range of an article content provided in a logical, clear, and understandable manner.
This extension could use quite a bit of polishing but has some great potential
There should be an option to have it read only certain text such as only highlighted text that you select to be read. If that happened, I would use it all the time!
Please add an option so that audio output can be suppressed for everything except highlighted text (and not that auto-highlight either). Great accessibility option but the addition of such a setting would make it useful for many more users.
This will be used by developers as well as vision impaired. It has a better and more fluent voice than NVDA or JAWS. I like the way it can work out -5 is ‘minus five’ and you can turn speech on or off using [Shift][Alt]’a’ then ‘a’ (on Windows). For a 5th star tell me when I’m on a form and let me switch mode to go in or out of it. Also, please let the user adjust how long a comma, pauses for.
